Purpose

As our Business Developer you will support our US based team to develop opportunities and sell our distributed wind turbine to consumers and businesses in the Midwestern United States.

Place in the organisation

You report to the Director Sales & Business Development.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support lead generation, customer development and closing of deals in key markets
  • Manage list of leads & opportunities across multiple states and develop them into customers
  • Generate outbound leads and respond to inbound leads to develop customers into opportunities and into sales
  • Develop meaningful relationships with potential customers to encourage trust and loyalty
  • Visit potential customers to pitch benefits of our wind turbine as an asset to their business
  • Demonstrate our wind turbine and service options to the customer
  • Assist customers with the wind development process
  • Support end-customers and development partners with project development steps, interconnection, permitting, and project execution
  • Cooperate with corporate teams to answer customers questions and build sales pipeline
  • Generate market penetration strategies designed to achieve sales targets set by the company in key markets
  • Help identify and successfully on-board development / execution partners in key regions
  • Maintain details of pipeline and qualified prospects through our CRM system (MS Dynamics)
  • Support marketing efforts to generate leads through campaigns

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in business, marketing, environmental studies or engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to create opportunities and close deals
  • An understanding of the wind and/or solar PV energy sector or power generation
  • Experience with developing and/or selling projects in the C&I and/or Ag market segments
  • Experience with behind the meter (BtM) energy applications and explaining the economics to the customers
  • Experience with project development useful
  • Comfortable with using DB software i.e., CRM to successfully manage pipeline
  • Demonstrated proficiency in customer service including attentiveness and friendliness
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to professionally articulate technology and product positioning to technical and non-technical users
  • Demonstrated experience with managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Comfortable in dynamic atmosphere of a technical org with a rapidly expanding market
  • Fluent in English and American Citizenship
  • Strong association with, and understanding of, the region and/or sectors targeted
  • Located in the Midwestern US area (preferably Chicago region)
  • Ability to travel (~40% is anticipated)
  • Ability to act independently but under instruction from Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Ability to travel to the Netherlands up to twice a year for meetings and training
