For our HQ location in Amersfoort, The Netherlands, we are currently looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer, reporting directly to the Mechanical Engineering Manager. We are offering a position in a dedicated engineering team where close cooperation within the team, with other departments and with suppliers is key. The scope of work of a Junior Mechanical Engineer at EWT provides opportunities to learn new skills and gain experience in new areas.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing concept, prototype and serial designs of mechanical systems as well as hands on design and analysis of individual parts and components for our direct drive wind turbines
- Modeling and detailing of mechanical systems and components using SolidWorks
- Writing of technical (design) specifications and reports
- Continuous improvement and troubleshooting of existing mechanical systems and components
- Cooperating with internal teams, suppliers and external parties like certification bodies to meet product technical requirements, cost targets and lead-times
- Working on the implementation and maintenance of engineering data in a new PLM system
- Supporting Supply Chain, Sales and Operations departments
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace or equivalent)
- Experience with mechanical system design with 3D CAD modeling software; preferably SolidWorks
- Familiarity with the use of PLM and/or ERP systems is a plus
- Strong technical verbal and writing skills in English
- High level of creativity and ingenuity to solve mechanical challenges, with basic understanding of electrical systems
- Pragmatic and self-starting attitude
- Ability to travel internationally once in a while
