For our Headquarters in Amersfoort, we are currently looking for a Senior Buyer, whose main purpose will be the international purchase of technical materials/ components for our wind turbines. The focus is on the main mechanical building blocks like towers, hubs, nacelles, bearings, gear boxes but also for general components needed for wind turbine options. You will manage supplier relationships with key suppliers while contributing to defining and implementing the short and mid-term vision.

The Senior Buyer is part of the Supply Chain Department and reports to the Director Supply Chain & Procurement. The Supply Chain Department consists of procurement, expediting, planning and logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Willing and able to challenge the current strategies of the mechanical component portfolio to look for opportunities to reduce costs, decrease risk and/or improve reliability by introducing new technologies and/or new suppliers.
  • Securing EWT’s dual sourcing strategy.
  • Reinstate and manage yearly supplier evaluations and supplier KPI’s
  • Manage RFQ’s and negotiate & close contracts
  • Assist with the global supply chain strategy
  • Work and plan with IFS/INFOR (ERP system)
  • Control orders and progress of suppliers.
  • Ability to function within cross-functional teams.
  • Take initiative to further optimize internal processes
  • Management of Material Reporting (MRP) ensuring all demand is actioned by procurement team

Required Skills and Qualifications

You have a commercial and/or technical background at bachelor level . You have a strong affinity and knowledge of mechanical components, NEVI 1/2 or equivalent as part of your educational training is an advantage. Passion for renewables/sustainability is a plus.

At least five (5) years of practical experience in international purchasing and logistics of technical capital goods is required, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across different teams and cultural backgrounds. Preferably with experience working in Asia and the United States. There needs to be a willingness to travel up to 30%.

Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships, with a proven track record of cost savings and efficiency improvements along with the ability to perform detailed cost analysis to support negotiation strategies and cost reduction initiatives.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with the right mindset and capacity to positively influence others. You possess strong analytical and project management skills. Your excellent communications skills will ensure strong stakeholder engagement and you are result driven.

Your English is fluent, and it would be good if you speak Dutch as well. You are living in the Amsterdam/Utrecht/Amersfoort area.

Sinds 2004 leveren we de voordeligste en meest betrouwbare direct drive windturbines voor decentrale energieopwekking. Onze bekroonde sub-MW windturbines ontsluiten al meer dan 20 jaar DER (Distributed Energy Resources) en voorzien bestaande locaties van stroom. In de loop der jaren hebben we onze producten voortdurend verbeterd om de energiekosten van onze klanten te verlagen. Vandaag de dag heeft EWT, met meer dan 650 geïnstalleerde turbines in Noord-Amerika, Europa en Azië, een uitstekende reputatie en is het de industriestandaard als het gaat om beschikbaarheid en prestaties in de decentrale windsector. Tevens ontwerpen en leveren we steeds meer energieoplossingen die wind integreren met PV- en batterijtechnologieën.
Sinds 2018 produceren we in onze fabriek in Enschede de rotor bladen voor onze turbines zelf en zijn hiermee de enige productielocatie van rotor bladen in Nederland. Iets waar we trots op zijn.
Ons hoofdkantoor is gevestigd in Amersfoort. Van daaruit beheren wij de disciplines: Sales, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, Assemblage en Service & Onderhoud.

Vanwege onze ambitieuze internationale groeiplannen en de wereldwijd versnellende energietransitie zijn we op zoek naar mensen die net zo gemotiveerd zijn als wij. Voor ons hoofdkantoor in Amersfoort zijn we op zoek naar een Senior Buyer. Doel van deze rol is de internationale inkoop van technische materialen/componenten voor onze windturbines.
De Senior Buyer is onderdeel van de afdeling Supply Chain en rapporteert aan de Director Supply Chain & Procurement. De afdeling Supply Chain bestaat uit inkoop, expediting, planning en logistiek.

Wat ga je doen?
• Inkoop van de belangrijkste mechanische bouwstenen van onze windturbines zoals torens, hubs, lagers en tandwielkasten.
• Beheren van de relatie met leveranciers en bijdragen aan het definiëren en implementeren van de korte- en middellangetermijnvisie.
• Bijdragen aan mogelijkheden om kosten te verlagen, risico’s te verminderen en/of de betrouwbaarheid te verbeteren door nieuwe technologieën en/of nieuwe leveranciers te introduceren.
• EWT’s dual sourcing-strategie waarborgen.
• Jaarlijkse evaluatie en beoordelen van KPI’s van leveranciers.
• RFQ’s beheren en contracten onderhandelen en sluiten.
• Ondersteunen van de wereldwijde supply chain-strategie.
• Werken met en plannen in IFS/INFOR (ERP-systeem).
• Bestellingen en voortgang van leveranciers controleren.
• Initiatief nemen om interne processen verder te optimaliseren.
• Beheren van Material Reporting (MRP) om ervoor te zorgen dat alle aanvragen worden verwerkt door het inkoopteam.

Wat breng je mee?
• Je hebt een commerciële en/of technische achtergrond op bachelor niveau. Je hebt een sterke affiniteit en kennis van mechanische componenten, NEVI 1/2 of gelijkwaardig als onderdeel van je opleiding is een pré.
• Passie voor groene energiebronnen/duurzaamheid is een pré.
• Minimaal vijf (5) jaar praktische ervaring in internationale inkoop en logistiek van technische kapitaalgoederen is vereist.
• Uitstekende communicatie- en samenwerkingsvaardigheden en het vermogen om effectief te werken in verschillende teams en culturele achtergronden. Bij voorkeur met ervaring in Azië en de Verenigde Staten
• Je bent bereid om tot 30% van je werktijd te reizen.
• Aantoonbaar vermogen om contracten te onderhandelen en leveranciersrelaties te beheren, met een bewezen staat van dienst van kostenbesparingen en efficiëntieverbeteringen, samen met het vermogen om gedetailleerde kostenanalyses uit te voeren ter ondersteuning van onderhandelingsstrategieën en kostenreductie-initiatieven.
• Het vermogen om te werken in een snel veranderende omgeving met de juiste mindset en het vermogen om anderen positief te beïnvloeden.
• Je beschikt over sterke analytische en projectmanagementvaardigheden.
• Je spreekt vloeiend Engels en Nederlands is een pré.
• Je woont maximaal 50 km van Amersfoort.
