For our Headquarters in Amersfoort, we are currently looking for a Senior Buyer, whose main purpose will be the international purchase of technical materials / components for our wind turbines. The focus is on the main mechanical building blocks like towers, hubs, nacelles, bearings, gear boxes but also for general components needed for wind turbine options. You will manage supplier relationships with key suppliers while contributing to defining and implementing the short and mid-term vision.

The Senior Buyer is part of the Supply Chain Department and reports to the Director Supply Chain & Procurement. The Supply Chain Department consists of procurement, expediting, planning and logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Willing and able to challenge the current strategies of the mechanical component portfolio to look for opportunities to reduce costs, decrease risk and/or improve reliability by introducing new technologies and/or new suppliers.
  • Securing EWT’s dual sourcing strategy.
  • Reinstate and manage yearly supplier evaluations and supplier KPI’s
  • Manage RFQ’s and negotiate & close contracts
  • Assist with the global supply chain strategy
  • Work and plan with IFS/INFOR (ERP system)
  • Control orders and progress of suppliers.
  • Ability to function within cross-functional teams.
  • Take initiative to further optimize internal processes
  • Management of Material Reporting (MRP) ensuring all demand is actioned by procurement team

Required Skills and Qualifications

You have a commercial and/or technical background at bachelor level . You have a strong affinity and knowledge of mechanical components, NEVI 1/2 or equivalent as part of your educational training is an advantage. Passion for renewables/sustainability is a plus.

At least five (5) years of practical experience in international purchasing and logistics of technical capital goods is required, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across different teams and cultural backgrounds. Preferably with experience working in Asia and the United States. There needs to be a willingness to travel up to 30%.

Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships, with a proven track record of cost savings and efficiency improvements along with the ability to perform detailed cost analysis to support negotiation strategies and cost reduction initiatives.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with the right mindset and capacity to positively influence others. You possess strong analytical and project management skills. Your excellent communications skills will ensure strong stakeholder engagement and you are result driven.

Your English is fluent, and it would be good if you speak Dutch as well. You are living in the Amsterdam/Utrecht/Amersfoort area.
