Today, Distributed Sun, owner, financier and operator of distributed energy resources throughout the United States, and EWT, the leading global supplier of wind energy turbines and 2016 winner of the Bloomberg New Energy Finance New Energy Pioneers award, announced the formation of a joint venture, sunEIGHT, to develop community solar projects in the North East United States.

Distributed Sun gains experience with which to add wind energy to its community solar sites. It represents a significant investment in, and endorsement of, the distributed energy market of New York State.

“We are excited to form a finance, development and community energy partnership with EWT” stated Chase Weir, CEO of Distributed Sun. Mark Jones, CEO of EWT added; “Maximising both solar and wind deployment is vital to bringing the greatest power cost savings and energy generation flexibility to the North East of the US. We are delighted to announce this step”.
